Local Elections May 07It appears that several local authorities operating alternate weekly collections have suffered the consequences of this policy and in some cases opposition parties have won control. Obviously we have not had sight of any election literature and would not like to make assumptions which are not based on fact. It may be just coincidence or perhaps other local issues were involved.
Woking, South Ribble, North Lincolnshire and Waverley to name a few.
In a BBC interview the leader of the Conservatives on Birmingham City Council stated that he was sure the residents of Birmingham were pleased that the Council had assured them that weekly general waste collections would continue.
